Nähtyäni Googlesta kertovan dokumentin, ymmärsin, että ideksointialgoritmit ovat "kuumaa kamaa". Minullakin on mielipiteeni asiasta, vaikka olen ajatellut, että huomioni ovat arvottomia.
Olen käyttänyt Googlea ristisanojen, "sanojen hautausmaan", ratkomiseen. Vielä jokin aika sitten kun syötin Gogleen vihjeitä ja vihjesanoja jotka lukivat ristikossa, vastaukseksi tuli usein koiranäyttelyitä ja koirakerhoja. Olen anit-koiraihminen, kaukana koiraystävästä. No niin.
Koska hakutulokset olivat hyvin usein samankaltaisia, teoriani on että Googlen indeksointialgoritmin idea on lähellä sanaristikoiden ideaa. Näin jatkui melko kauan. Olen täytellyt ristikooita vuosia käyttäen Googlen hakua. Mutta huomasin myös muutoksen tuloksissa jokin aika sitten. Tulokset alkoivat olla enemmän satunnaisia ja siten enemmän "normaaleja". Uskon että Googlen algoritmin päivitys oli asiassa takana.

Tässä lyhyt kommentti Googlen algoritmeihin liittyen. Googlen algoritmi on tietysti jo ehtinyt muuttua useaan kertaan sitten yllä olevan kommentin kirjoittamisen jälkeen. Google kiinnittää lähinnä huomiota kolmeen eri osa-alueeseen sivustoja ja niiden sijoituksia arvottaessaan. Ensimmäinen on tekniikka, jonka pitää olla sivustolla kunnossa, jotta hakurobotti pystyy lukemaan ja indeksoimaan tärkeimmät sivut. Toinen on sisältö, jonka pitää olla kohdennettu tehtyihin hakuihin. Kolmas tekijö on sivuston maine, joka muodostuu lähinnä ulkoisista sivustolle osoittavista linkeistä, niiden laadusta sekä lukumäärästä. Myös sivuston iällä on merkitys maineen kasvattamisen kannalta. Hakukonemarkkinointi on yleistermi hakukoneissa tapahtuvalle löydettävyyden kasvattamiselle.
